Overheating?

this ps3 is a Super Slim cech 4314c
never opened
and i never received that message from overheating
when i turn it on the rsx its always around 70C
and the console feels cool by the touch
the cpu temp doesnt go higher than 52C
but the rsx can go to 89C

You need to remove the old paste on the RSX (give a good clean to the die also) and polish the copper heatsink to eliminate any kind of humidity mark. It needs to be shinny, same with the CELL. Usually a piece of paper turns black on aluminum, so keep polishing, then apply a good amount of good thermal paste.
My normal temps in all the SS I've manage are 55-60ºC (both processors), IDLE, 26ºC ambient, fan at 35%.
