PS3 Partitioned drive larger than 2TB

I have partitioned my 4.5TB external drive to have a 2TB NTFS MBR partition. I want to mount iso's from it but no program can see that it exists. I only have the one partition, the rest is unallocated.
Are partitions impossible for the ps3 to read or am I doing something wrong?
