I was curious as I found a mod for a 2016 version of Minecraft PS3 edition that works online, however I wanted to research further and see if the original 2014 launch versions would work online or any version.
I really feel that the only online case for this is just the server verifies the game version through the XML I guess or find a way to spoof the server into thinking it's the latest one. Me and some friends are into the old versions of legacy so I wanted to see if there was some workarounds. Version spoofing did exist on the Wii U version but the online is shut down now so..
