MOD: some internal modchip to read physical backups (installed back in 2004 so im not sure wich one)

Hi, the game never starts, it stays on a black screen until I use IGR to go back to the ps2 default screen.
Same happens with Phantasy Star Universe Ambition of the Illuminus (SLUS_216.31). Other games runs ok.
I have not tested it on USB or in other OPL versions.

Ill try it, I didnt test any comp mode because I didnt know what each one do exactly, also the list didint specified any particular mode, but I will try them.
About that version of OPL ill try it but Im afraid to broke another working game in te process.

I've checked Phantasy Star Universe (SLES_543.08) only with OPL 1406
and it seems that none of the compatibility modes helps.
I'm only getting BSOD at start.

Thanks for your report.
I'll try to add "Phantasy Star Universe"
and "Phantasy Star Universe: Ambition of the Illuminus"
into Game Bug Reports:
https://www.psx-place.com/threads/open-ps2-loader-game-bug-reports.19401/.
Thank you, I have yet to try the suggested things, but yeah the second one has the same behaviour, those are the only tittles with major problems I have found so far since they dont run at all.

It is possible to have more than one OPL installed on a memory card for compatibility issues like this one?

Also Ive found other changes in games that has other restrictions or lack the ones listed in this list: http://www.ps2-home.com/forum/page/opl-game-compatibility-list-P

For example Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance (usa version) is listed as not compatible with PADEMU, but it worked for me with a wired usb original dualshock 4 without problems so far on OPL 1627.

And there are others that dont start with PADEMU like The Operative No one lives forever even when the same list dont say anything about it.

Other games like Silent Hill 2 and 3 works very ok with GSM on 1080i with some V Pos tweaks.

You can have as much OPL on MC* as you like, as long as you have space for it.
Only filename should be different (e.g. OPL_1392.ELF, OPL_1406.ELF...).
You can launch them through u\wLe or make a shortcut for it in FMCB Configurator and use FMCB menu to do the same thing.

You can also try to launch them from USB or from HDD.

There are also other lists:
https://www.psx-place.com/threads/open-ps2-loader-game-compatibility-lists.19037/.

I'm not maintaining none of them, so I don't know if I can help you with this one.

I've updated a little bit Game Bug Reports by adding link to your report (currently it should be #11):

Thanks for your feedback\support.

Hello, I know from version 1499 opl discontinued mode 8, but at least the 2 phantasy star universegames gives bsod if mode 8 is not active. Is any posibility to recompile again opl to the last version with mode 8 again?

I readed that changelog, but these games are not mentioned, so it was broken compatibility? Since OPL 1281 its required to work properly to enable mode 8 if not, BSOD, at least to version 1485, onwards the mode was removed

Hide DEV9 module?
Its patched as jolek says up this, but the games suposedly that dont nedeed wont start

I played PAL version of Phantasy Star Universe (SLES-54308) on HDD and USB. Only USB work a little stutter at FMV's.

I actually never tried the game from HDD. I know this game requires MODE 8 from other people reports. Also I tested it (on a Ps2 slim) from SMB and without MODE 8 it doesn't start.

Could you check for sure what MODE you have enabled for making the game to work from HDD?

HDD didn't work for me. I was playing on USB.
