PS3 PKGlinker on HAN gives 100mbps speeds while the Ethernet properties show speed 1Gbps

14 GB game takes 20 minutes to transfer instead of 2minutes which would happen on my 1Gbps connection.

I know there's nothing wrong on the pc side as I use Direct LAN cable to transfer files to other pc at 600~700Mbps speeds. Somehow the PKGlinker operation lags behind at 100mbps.

When I click on Ethernet inside network and sharing Center, speed is shown 1Gbps. It should be, since I have the correct cable.

However, in task manager under Performance bar, actual speed is shown 100~124Mbps. My PS3 is a super slim on 4.82 ps3xploit.

On the PS3 side network settings, I try to force speed to 1000 Base full/half duplex but then my PC no longer recognises the Ethernet connection. It comes to 100Mbps at 100 Base full duplex; and to 1Gbps only when I leave the speed (first setting) to auto.

You are doing well to get 14GB in 20minutes. That is almost max. The PS3 might claim to be gigabit but its not.

Then why do they even have 1000 Base settings (assuming 1000 means 1000mbps)
I have no idea., I just know that no one gets much more than you, I think I transferred 18GB in 20 minutes once. Its the same speed on CFW via FTP, or from Sony servers with fast net. Someone else might be explain technically why its like that, I don't know.

Because the transfer is at about 150Mbit and also because there is no reason to not have a gigabit ethernet. Personally I was also a bit surprised with the low transfer speed, but I accounted it as slow FTP server implementation as well as encryption speed so not much we can do anything about.

Yes my question was about this. So no hope for better server implementation... That's too bad. Installing takes a lot more time but it'd be nice to have a faster transfer before that.

Yeah, even downloading games from the PS store will be limited to these kind of speeds. Nothing we can do.
