PS2 Play music on ps2 with MX4SIO

A really backwards way to do this would be to create a custom CD image SMS Player with your music on it, then run that through OPL as a game. Though that's a lot of trouble for such a small amount of payoff.

How could I do that? is it possible with FMCB memory card and MX4SIO. Could you make a tutorial for that? No one knows how to do it, only you I think

is it possible to also have it played on argon or only on sms media player with that mx4xsio card

I don't know anything about Argon. What you need is for someone to recompile the Argon source code with support for MX4SIO modules. The only reason I know it's possible through SMS is because it supports reading media from discs (DVDs, CDs). By generating a bootable SMS disc image with the music already built-in you could launch it in OPL from MX4SIO and play the music from the image. But you'd be limited to what you put on the disc when you generated the image. That's why I said it's a backwards way of doing it.

Why MX4SIO, why not just store your music on USB?

With FMCB installed on a PlayStation Memory card I can play music from a USB I want the same but then playing from a MX4XSIO card

then I have to look for someone who can do that
someone to recompile the Argon source code with support for MX4SIO module

will be someone on this forum who can do that
I really want it if someone reads this who can do it. you can contact me

Rather everyone but it is just pointless. SMS does not support MX4SIO, so workaround is making CD or DVD disc image with both: SMS and music files, then place it eg on MX4SIO and run it by OPL like any games. SMS will not see of course MX4SIO but this disc (which is in reality disc image) if You are lucky (OPL is not designed to run ps2sdk stuff but ps2 rtl stuff, not from from disc images).

that's a good idea tomorrow I'll try that, someone can also try that if it works

I think what you mean is like this but the download link of the files from that site no longer works

hi can anyone help me making CD or DVD disc image with both: SMS and music files
I am a beginner, I don't know how to put the SMS player and music on the micro SD of the MX4Sio[/QUOTE]

This tutorial which You linking producing CD images because CDGenPS2 producing only CD images. OPL will not load mode2 images so You need after creation one, strip it from 2352 blocks to 2048 blocks. Also You do not need to set specific LBA address for SYSTEM.CNF like they shows.

It is pointless anyway. Make DVD image by eg ImgBurn. Set ISO9660 + Joliet (if You want keep long file names and I believe SMS supporting Joliet) + UDF v1.02.

SYSTEM.CNF is text file, You can edit it in eg Notepad in Windows. BOOT2 parram must point to executable.

Hi berion Thank you for your comment
If I understand you, I have to put the MP3 in an ISO file with Isoburn
but I don't understand this, I'm really new to this
-strip it from 2352 blocks to 2048 blocks.
-Set ISO9660 + Joliet
-SYSTEM.CNF
-BOOT2 parram
could you make a tutorial it's too difficult for me
