Ciao! A few days ago I bought a cheap CNC 3018, and one of the first things I made, mostly to familiarize myself with the machine and the softwares needed to use it, was a badge for a PlayStation that was missing one. I made it out of copper from a 0.3mm thick sheet. It took me a few trial runs to get the tool to use and the measurements right, but the end result is much nicer than I expected.
I just need to decide what to use for the background (so far I've tried a piece of adhesive aluminum, and I'm about 50% happy with that), as the place where the badge will go isn't perfectly smooth. Before finally gluing it in, I'll polish it to a mirror finish to remove all the scratches and protect it with a bit of clear varnish.
In the future, I'll also try making it out of brass and carbon fiber.
