Ehem.... PSXtreme...

Ehem... SOON! (tm)

Very nice! Can't wait for this!

I also remember the POPStarter-OPL drama with a certain person (who's username has two J's in it) who kept making circumventions to make it work with OPL that caused @krHACKen to stop working on his excellent loader/patcher.

I honestly like this UI better. I never cared for using OPL to launch games on POPS. I still use the modded version on uLE to load VCD's...at least until this great looking UI you are working on is released.

It just makes me sad the project had to die because of one stubborn individual.

Me too. I still use and prefer it instead of using my PS3 for PSX games.
240p (or close to it) is hard to beat.

That, and the ease of use for cheats, external BIOS loading, external PS-EXE loading and the other options that can be enabled in "CHEATS.TXT".

From time to time I find myself wondering whether or not @krHACKen continued development privately for his own personal entertainment. I like to believe his personal version has since patched and fixed issues with games like Tekken 3 and Final Fantasy VII.

I asked him on another site before it sadly went down (assembler games) (and myself under a different username) about releasing the source code to his loader. I think he wanted to, but he told me something about a Frankenstein SDK or something other and I don't think he ever released it.

You never know though, someone else may eventually be able to reverse-engineer the POPS.ELF and create their own loader for the emulator.

"Link to the POPStarter Game Installer for OPL resource added to the "Additional Softwares" tab."

I thought @krHACKen was against using OPL to load POPStarter ELF files?
OPL is not OPL DB.

Please, read what I wrote here for details:

Here's a TL;DR, but, I advise you to read the entire message above
(...) If OPL has a page for launching games for emulators in GENERAL like FCEU, MGBA, PS2PSXe (and even POPS) it will not be an issue as it could be a modular extension (like WiiFlow MasterMod), but since it is only intended to work and look for games in POPS format it results in a threat for the devs because you are not looking for a plug-in or module coded by someone else that launches a closed source emulator, but instead OPL is the one launching the emulator. Get my point?(...)

Has anybody been able to get a DS3 controller working wirelessly with PopStarter? I've tried DS3_modules_BT_20171017 and it works... for awhile then the controller goes haywire. I tried it with Rev 13 Beta 2019/06/05. The readme says it only works with WIP 06 beta 17 so I tried that too and got the same result. My USB Bluetooth adapter and DS3 work flawlessly on OPL with PS2 games.

It happen to me too. But it is an issue with a few games and I haven't managed to figure out why.
Here's a workaround for the games that fails:
Use a long cable and the USB IRX files instead of the BT IRX files:

I knew about KHN, but not sp193. Thanks for the information.

And also @sp193 is another one of those really good developers and hearing this is sad.

I was posting patch files for building ps2sdk on windows (which it didn't do out of the box) and he would take my instructions, modify them to work on his broken OS install and then argue with me that my instructions were wrong and instead tell all his followers to setup their systems like his.

He just gaslit me every time I tried to speak to him about it his followers just loved him anyway and gave me shit and in the end I realised I was basically working for him for free, so I stopped.

Not surprising.

I hope he (jay-jay) is happy he got this great project shut down, making others suffer in the process.

A new XEB+ plugin, POPSY-X allows you to display the games installed with POPStarter Game Installer for OPL in the XtremeEliteBoot+ dashboard:

I've looked around and can't find one so I figured I would ask the experts. Is there a repository or collection of CHEATS.TXT files for POP that are preconfigured? I'm sure I'd need to modify some if they have HDTV turned on or what not since I use a CRT.

Here you can find the generic CHEATS.TXT if it's what you're looking for: ShaolinAssassin / POPStarter Documentation & Stuff / Downloads — Bitbucket

You have to put the $ before each line of code you want to enable. You can do it directly on Ps2 using Ulaunchelf.

Also if you found some preconfigured cheats for games that have the HDTV fix enabled, you simply have to remove the $ on that code, so 240/288p games will output correctly.

Anyone know where to find documentation on Popstarter? I'm looking specifically for steps how to set it up so I can run PS1 games on an internal HDD, but the user guide in the overview gives me a 404 error when I click on it. I've been looking at various videos on Youtube, but they all seem to use different versions of OPL and shows widely different steps to complete. I've tried following the steps in a couple videos but I did not manage to get anywhere and now I feel pretty frustrated.

I'm currently using FMCB v1.996 btw
