PS3HEN Precautions when going online

Hello, I'm new to the PSN thing when using HEN, so I'd like to hear some safety precautions when going online with HEN. On my system I have latest webman mod, hen 3.2.2 and hfw 4.90. On webman, everything is stock except FTP is off (read somewhere hackers can steal idps if it's on while gaming online), vsh Fps counter combo is off and fan is at 35% manual. I have some questions:

1 - Do I only need to disable syscalls before entering online or should I also need to disable webman?
2 - Can I have a manual fan (35% for example) when going online or should I revert to Syscon?
3 - I have some JB games or folder games on my HDD that I load with webman (I can't load with multiman for some reason, maybe because it's hen), can I play those games online safely? And if I can do I for example need to put a physical disc then emulate the JB game (again I heard S#ny can track if there's a game in the drive)?
4 - Going to digital games, is it ok to play online if the digital games are not original (I downloaded from no pay station)?
5 - If the online game needs an online pass and I install the pass and/or fix, can I play those games online safely (NFS mw 2012 for example)?
6 - Any other tips I should know? I don't plan to use mods in games as I don't want to have the trouble with bans and public idps.
I'd like to read your experiences too. My biggest concern is webman only although he's the one I use to disable syscalls :p. Also I know it is not recommended at all to log in without disabling syscalls, I can't enter homebrew, install pkgs and leave the auto sign option on. If I log in I go directly to the game I want to play online or if I want to go to YouTube/netflix, etc. Thanks in advance.

The best way is to use a DFW to go online, if you can't, make sure to disable the syscalls before going online.
1. Only the syscalls,
2. It doesn't matter.
3. We don't know what sony checks and the disc in the drive is probably not one of them.
4. We won't answer anything related to piracy, please read the forum's rules.
5. Same as #4

Sorry about #4 and #5, if you want I can remove from my post and thanks for the reply, I just needed to be sure if I was on the right track.

Mate I forgot to ask, I've seen some videos where they use PSN patch or something like that, is it worth it or webman in enough?

PSN patch is an old homebrew/plugin but basically does the same as webman when it comes to "security", disables syscalls and deletes history files.

webman man is pretty much an all-in-one, you probably won't need any other plugin but webman

I'm only signing in just to play some games online like GTA 5 1.12 so I guess webman is enough :)

pardon me but what is DFW?

Have you gone online with GTA 5? Are you running GTA from HEN or original disk? Are you able to get trophies still?

I think that the welcome trophy and heists are temporarily impossible, however you can use Apollo save tool to get it.

Yes, people still play GTAO but be aware that a lot of people are using mod menus (if they are like me I use only for unlocking everything for my self and don't ruin anyone else's experience since we can't save the character without LTS (paid mod menu)). The trick to play with people with or without mod menu is to never modify the file "update.rpf".

But if ofw is original why does he say that there is no need to jailbreak?

Read again, I've never said that.

DFW = Dual FW. It's a type of FW that is almost the same as OFW but it allows you to reinstall CFW without the need of a jailbreak (BgToolset or PS3Xploit's Flash Writer).

DFW = Dual FW, which is the same as OFW but retains the exploit intact in order to reinstall CFW any time.
OFW = Official FW, which is Sony's FW that doesn't allow to install CFW without and exploit.

Interesting. From what I'm understanding, DFW is like a sort of dual boot where you can boot the original OFW for when you want to play online or a CFW when you don't want to, correct me if i'm wrong.

Yes, I believe the jailbreak stays in effect for easy swap between OFW/CFW, which could easily be misinterpreted as needing a jailbreak every time you are on OFW, which is what Tesla was getting at that JB is not necessary if using OFW from a dual-boot but to shut down console and flip dual-boot switch between OFW or CFW as you please.

Not dual boot. You can not pick which FW you want to use on each boot. DFW only allows you to reinstall CFW any time. That's all.

If you want to use DFW for going online, you must install it. If you want to use CFW, you must installed it on a jailbreaked console (which DFW keeps when installed).
