TL;DR: The PS3 games I've dumped using ps3-disk-dumper won't run on a evilnat 4.92.2 PS3 Slim. They either do some video mode switching, then dump me back to main XMB (Motorstorm) or keep displaying a black screen (Uncharted 1. I can enter the game XMB in this case).
Longer explanation: I've been using a fat PS3 with CFW, but wanting to get something that will (hopefully) last a bit longer I've decided to buy a PS3 Slim (especially since I've discovered that the Slim has PS2 compatibility as well). It's a CECH 2104A. I've installed evilnat CFW (4.92.2 CEX)- had to go through HFW and the flasher hosted on github pages since the PS3 toolset was down at the time. I've then switched the drive to a 1TB SSD (the same make and model I've used in my fat PS3 with no problems).
I've installed webMAN mod 1.47.48 and multiMAN mod 4.91.
What works: PS1 emulation (tested on WipeOut 2097), PS2 emulation (tested on SoulCalibur 3).
What doesn't work: PS3 games. As I've said they either exit back to XMB or show a black screen (I can still activate the in-game XMB).
The games in question were all dumped using ps3-disk-dumper and all showed correct CRCs. They also all work on the fat PS3.
Things I have tried:
* I have tried installing the noBD version of the CFW (I didn't check but I'm fairly sure the BD drive is busted since the seller didn't notice they've left a copy of PES 2009 in the console) but that didn't help either.
* Since the PS3 toolset came back up I've used it to check for logged errors but all I've found were a coupe of 2022s which don't seem to be relevant since I'm using HDMI.
* I have dumped Motorstorm again on my PC (ps3 disk dumper reported all CRCs were ok), then copied the game files from PS3 slim and compared all the hashes. They match, so I don't think it's a problem with the game image getting corrupted during copying to the console.
Are there any other possible steps I can take to better diagnose/fix this problem?
