PS3 Problems after the installation of webMAN-Mod

I have installed HFW 4.91 on my PS3 Slim and successfully executed the exploit using PS3 Auto Hen (PS3HEN 3.3.0 runs flawlessly).

Via PS3HEN I can install apps without any problems, and also apps like MultiMAN or IRISMAN run flawlessly and I can mount and play PS3 games from the PS3ISO folder without any problems.

But as soon as I install webMAN-MOD (version 1.47.74h), the problems start.

Sometimes the installation does not work at all and I have to run it several times until webMAN-MOD is finally running and the "my games" section is displayed. In addition, webMAN-MOD causes the PS3 to hang with a black screen when running any apps without any activity on the console (hard disk LED no longer shows any activity, the console no longer responds to any gamepad inputs). The only thing I can do then is to switch off the PS3 by holding down the power button on the console.

After restarting the console, it runs again, but the described problems with webMAN-MOD persist.

When I uninstall webMAN-MOD, everything works fine again. However, uninstalling is a pain, as the console freezes even when I try to uninstall webMAN-MOD via its settings, and manually via apps is hardly possible either, as the console also freezes when it is executed. The only thing left is to reinstall HFW 4.91 and re-exploit via PS3 Auto Hen.

Is this a known problem? What can be done about it?

I went through alot of drama with webman freezing on me, in the end i manually uninstalled all components.
I downloaded it again and this time ive had no problems and (fingers crossed) i dont.

I have already done the manual uninstallation according to the wiki and it worked. After that, all apps and games are running again as usual.

What is the reason that webMAN-MOD causes these kinds of problems and how can I solve them?
As I said, a clean uninstall and reinstall will not help.

There are some factors that can lead to the issues that you're having:
1- Your specific setup of games (files names & characters, amount of games, storage devices, etc.)
This is the most difficult cause to fix because I don't have any control. You can try reducing your library of games and increase it incrementally until you find which set is causing the issue.
2- webMAN MOD version.
You can check if an older version of webMAN MOD doesn't have the issue.
3- Settings in /setup.ps3.
It's always recommended to disable the scan for content at startup. It can cause memory issues if the user have a large number of games. Also adjust the other settings to your needs.
4- It's not very common but sometimes the PS3HEN payload can be the cause.

If the issues persists, try multiMAN MOD or IRISMAN.

I have tried different versions of webMAN-MOD, all with the same result (PS3 freezes regularly when running apps or games). Without webMAN-MOD everything works perfectly.

It's a real shame, because webMAN-MOD would have good features to offer in an all-in-one solution, but it just doesn't work very well.

Will have to make do with multiMAN MOD or IRISMAN and use the old FTP Server v1.2 by blackb0x app for FTP file transfer.
