PS2 Problems transferring files from USB to HDD

I have a problem with transferring files from USB to 1TB HDD (where about 300 games are installed) in the +OPL folder where I have to transfer the themes, language and art. Basically when I try to copy the files after a while it freezes and I have to reset the console. Obviously I use uflauncer 4.43.

Are you attempting to copy everything at once? Because trying to copy too many individual files at the same time has been something of an "evergreen" problem, that is as old as HDDs themselves..

I tried copying a few files at a time, but it keeps crashing. The problem is only with the +OPL folder. Copying the same files to other folders doesn't crash.

It is not a good idea to copy large files through wLe from USB to HDD because it takes a lot of time to transfer e.g. 100 MB.
To copy 1TB is insane, it could take a week or even more.

I don't copy the games, just the cover art and themes for OPL. Only these block the transfer, but ONLY to the +OPL folder; transfer works to other folders.

I used to transfer my POPS VCDs from USB to my SSD. I later found out that changing the PSU somehow helped eliminating those.

Not guaranteeing that it can work on your case tho.

After so many failure attempts to copy files try to check your HDD with PlayStation 2 HDD checker:

How about connect your HDD into PC and try:
The last resort that I can think of is to copy your files through ETH with smbLaunchELF:

@jolek PFSHDDMVS shouldn't be used because its base on pfsshell v0.3. The original project, super unreliable. Can easily damage partitions filesystem and/or APA chain.
