PS3 Problems with HDMI Display

OK. It turns out not the thermal IC related. I tested the pins and seems 3.3V power pins are all good. The only problem I see is THERM and THERM2 pin are not pulled high, according to the datasheet:

To make sure it's not thermal IC issue, I cleared the errlog and then turn it on again. First time, without 12V connected, it certainly gets an 3001 power fail error. The second time, with 12V connected, it gives 2114 error(A009 2114 to be specific).

So turns out 2114 error are not documented in the public... wonder if it goes with 2110-2113 which is some other clock generator's error...

where is the THERM and THERM 2 pin?
I have PS3 VER 001 with GLOD, syscon errors are 2130 2131.
the voltage of both thermal sensors is 3.3v

Again, GLOD is not likely *just* caused by thermal sensor issue.

Update on that PS3:

So both erode EMI filter causes no continuity, and bad HDMI chip causing very low resistance between HDMI connector pins. Replaced the EMI filter and carefully solder a new MN864709 from Aliexpress fixed that console. Be careful those chips from Ali is probably they got them scraped from other machines, as I found several bend pins after first soldering attempt.

Conclusion from me: those color segments are likely caused by bad HDMI chip or the EMI filter sitting between the HDMI chip and HDMI connector. Also MN864709 isn't compatible with MN8647091.

hello, could you upload a picture of the EMI filter? I've got simililar problem. MN864709 replaced, but 1080p still failed, 1080i ok.

EMI filter is just a tiny component that looks a bit like a pf level capacitor. It's found closed to the HDMI connector. Every single pin to the HDMI should have a EMI filter directly connect to it.
