PS VITA / PS TV PS Vita Firmware 3.52 Out - Do Not Update If You Want Homebrew

The PS Vita has had a prompt update following news of it been opened up by developer Yifan Lu's Rejuvenate. Version 3.52 is now live and comes with the usual system stability dribble we have become accustomed too. Yifan Lu, via his Twitter feed, reports that it blocks PSM and that you should not update if you want to use Rejuvenate, even if you don't have PSM. [break].[/break]Remember that he will be releasing his workaround for that sometime soon. We will keep you informed as we hear more.

Dear PlayStation Mobile content developer

A software issue was found in PSM Development Assistant/ PSM Development Assistant for Unity applications.

For those developers using PSM Development Assistant/ PSM Development Assistant for Unity, we kindly ask you to stop using the application and delete it from your PlayStation®Vita (PS Vita).

Please be aware that PS Vita system software update 3.52, scheduled to be released on June 24, will revoke the applications, and users will no longer be able to use it.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

As scheduled, content updates are accepted until July 15, 2015.

Update: Another Tweet by Yihan Lu:
Do NOT update to 3.52 if you ever want to run Rejuvenate. Even if you can't download/use PSM DevAssistant, hold off on 3.52 for now!

Best I ever heard what they do described as increased stability was in a security standpoint. As Sony has been dumb enough to leave our personal info in plain text before without hiding our info. There was even that virus that was written for the PSP but it didn't exploit the systems passwords and info that were to be found easily in plain text. Guess they could try to argue that but then again it would make them look stupid leaving such info just lying around in our systems in the first place.

thnx for the notice. will update today, I've been waiting for something good to come up, like a cfw or some kind of exploit, still running 3.36.
Really not interested in "hello world" apps or homebrews on my vita.

You do realize this is the first real chance at seeing a CFW for the Vita right? It may be the only one. It's only a userland exploit yes but so was Ninjax for the 3DS and look not even a year later we have a full fledged CFW for the system and much more.
