PS4 PS1 Emulation gets native support on PS4! Thanks to the findings by @Vitt0x_Lar_YT

Emulation on todays Sony Home Consoles wasn't always a easy task compared with the older days such for the PS3 for instance. In fact, it seems that Sony isn't interested anymore nowadays to make the PS4 a "fully" Backwards Compatible Console. PlayStation 3 Game Titles can be only "emulated" via their PlayStation Now-Service - where you already now those Games doesn't get emulated at all - and while the PS3 had many "PS2 Classics" available at their PSN Store, the PS4 share a few of them as well, but sadly only about >50 Game Titles and the last one added was also already over two years ago. :( But luckily we have the great Homebrew Community doing the job what Sony failed to do. :) We saw already in the past that speaking of "PS2 Emulation", the PS4 can handle them pretty well unlike Sony claims (over >500 Game Titles are fully "playable" right now) and we even saw some "more unsual" methods of emulating PS3 Games with the PS4 by running the famous RPCS3 on a Linux Distribution with a PS4. But "1" Home Console was actually missing. Thanks to the newest Exploits and Jailbreaks for the PS4 on System Firmware 6.72, Developer @Vitt0xLar_YT was able to find a native PS1 Emulator within the PS4 Remaster "MediEvil" and he was successfully able to dump all the necessary Files the Community and you need to - similar to PS2 Emulation - create your own PS1 Fake PKGs (FPKG) with your own old PS1 Game Titles. So you can enjoy your old and nostalgic classics again even on your PS4 now! And yes, even the original Boot Screen is included. Nostalgiaaaaaa :P

The funny thing is, this game demand higher fw than we have public user+kexploit. So how he dump it? ;)

And as I predicted right after release, this remake (not remaster for God sake! ;p) have built-in fully functional PSX emulator. Very nice to see someone try make it user friendly.

What's the 81AA value in config? PAL MediEvil was additionally secured by LibCrypt so for sure this somehow patch it on the fly. But why 81AA? Is this the checksum which should be back from original disc subchannel data from this game?

This game is playable on 6.72 I think

That's great news! I wonder what its compatibility is like.

Also, could PSPHD emulator be extracted from newer PSP Emu titles like Patapon 2, which may have a better compatibility?

Never mind...i got Riven workong on
retro arch...
....3 ways to play psx isos....
Making this fpkg..
or retro arch r4 ..from both cores provided..

I bought yesterday "Castlevania Requiem: Symphony of the Night & Rondo of Blood" and for sure it uses PSX emulator, and also for sure scripted (additional quick save menu, changed randomize percentage for Crissaegrim sword etc.).

Castlevania:SoTN is mainly 2D game, but with 3D insets. 3D is anti-aliassed x4, and both games can be upscalled by nearest neighbour.

I think this game set was released before fw v6.72 so if someone have access to jailbreak, it is worth to look at this. Maybe it will be better choice for i.e 2D games rather than MediEvil emulator and doesn't have problems with overlighted textures?

edit:
Unfortunately no, this is PSP emulator. :P
