PS2 PS1 save

Hi, I have a modchipped SCPH-77004, and I would like to play burned PS1 games on it. Can I save PS1 game files to my PS2 memory card? If I can't, is there any alternative to using a PS1 memory card? Does fake memory cards will work?

Also, how does PopStarter's virtual memory card work in this case can i use it ?

You cannot saving on PS2MC in PSX games. You need PSXMC.

POPStarter is emulator, and it emulates also memory cards, which images you can store on USB, HDD (internal of course), over SMB, or on MMCE.
