Where is the best place to sell PS2 builds. Is there a place here (psx-place)?
Thanks for the advice! I am new to all of this.facebook marketplace. this site doesn't allow for buying and selling. facebook marketplace, unlike ebay, has no fees unless you ship through them. it's far better than ebay, which charges 15% by default, so some scalping prices are understandable, especially if they offer free shipping. though, they still tend to be ripoffs. lol
edit: don't let them lowball you, stand your ground. I've sold everything but my n3ds xl majora's mask edition and gba majora's mask addition so far, as far as hacked consoles go. it may take some time, but that's what I'd suggest.
I couldn't say. I usually look at what's selling, sometimes on eBay, rather than what people are asking. That's where people F%$# as far as selling goes, relying on what people are asking. Thanks for the advice! I am new to all of this.
What would be a fair price for the labor only to install these on PS2 Slims?
- ModBo 5.0 (70k-75k)
- ModBo 5.0 (79k-90k)
- IDE HDD (70k)
- Install Gusse's "Ide Reserector" (70k)
- Internal MX4SIO (75k-90k)
- Internal Blue Retro HW2 (All)
- Install Gusse's "Methylene" (All)
- Install an "ElectronAnalog" (All)
- Install a "Retro G.E.M." (All)
- Ultra Slim (Complete Full Basic Build)
- A basic refurbish of a PS2 slim.
Oops. Whose the dummy who didnt read the rules... this guy!!
What I'm tired of seeing on Etsy and eBay is the sale of consoles with just an FMCB card and a USB stick loaded with 500 games for $400.

The thing is most people only care about games, so that's why those listings are so common.
I got myself a facebook account. Just for marketplace. sigh.
Yeah, I figured you'd have to word it just so to make it around eBay. I haven't had that problem on Facebook marketplace.I've had two of my eBay listings removed due to policy violations, specifically for counterfeit-related issues. I've noticed this happens when I include terms like "ModBo" or "mod" in the description. Since the listings are flagged by AI, I decided to use AI myself to rewrite the descriptions to avoid triggering these flags.
The updated descriptions now emphasize that the console is genuine and authentic, but heavily enhanced by me. They also make it clear that the modifications are intended to allow the console to play game backups. In my opinion, this is the primary reason for these enhancements—optical media tends to fail over time. As far as I'm concerned, if I own the original game disc, backing it up and using that backup is perfectly reasonable.
I've explored various listing strategies and understand the suggestions people have shared. However, I wanted to highlight that by using AI to counter AI, I was able to pinpoint the specific triggers for these flags. It makes sense to me now. My revised approach is to clearly state that the console is genuine, with modifications made to enhance the user experience, while maintaining its core functionality.
I am sure almost all of us have had to deal with this at some point. Just adding my worthless two cents!
