PS3 Ps2 Burned Discs

Hi just bought a frankenstein ps3 60gb with evilnat. Got lots of burned ps2 games but they show up as data discs on the console, quite annoying is there any apps to launch from the BLURAY drive? its a cecha so fully BC

Sadly i did replace with a 1tb crucial SSD. It certainly is an odd repercussion. Was hoping a 3rd party launcher would exist or something. Thank you for your reply.

A 3rd party launcher is used to play ISOs, not burned discs.
Make sure Cobra is loaded and syscalls are not disabled (if you can launch homebrew that's a good indication that it's loaded).
Also did you burn a proper ISO image? If you just copied the files off the original disc and then burned them then it probably won't work. You need to create an ISO of the original disc and then burn that, without touching individual files.
BTW do those discs play on PCSX2?

Hi thanks for the reply. These were made using imgburn from the ISOs and they do work on pcsx2. After a bit of digging it does seem to be an issue swapping the hdd for a ssd. Weird bug

I have the same EXACT problem. The only way to fix it is to replace your SSD with the hard drive that PS3 came with. In my case at least, even if I use a different hard drive instead of an SSD (from another fat PS3 btw) it still didn't work. It only works with the factory hard drive. I'm on a CECHC04 and on the same Evilnat firmware as you. I pinged Evilnat on Twitter in hopes to get a reply or some form of help, but to no avail. I'm not complaining that they aren't replying, everyone's a human and have their own time, it just sucks that we can't play our burned discs :c

You're exactly right I purchased a 1tb hdd after it didn't work either and I don't have the original 60gb still so can't it working. I do wish they'd patch this. Thanks for the reply
 
maybe worth a try, but the DECR-1000A has a debug function for faking 60/20GB HDD? it also spits a debug message, about "Fake HDD speed" upon startup, so maybe limited to only this model, but still worth a try in my eyes
 
From the future:
Interesting... I have cechc model with 500GB drive, it can read burnt ps2 disks.
With ssd it shows Playstation 2 Data disk only
