PS2 PS2 FAT with an unusual problem. Refuses to load FMCB/elf/or any homebrew

This problem maybe so deep that I'm not sure if anyone out there can take a guess what's going on with this PS2 scph 50001...
or the solution is so simple that I am blind to it ...

This console refuses to load FMCB/elf/or any homebrew
freemcboot just freezes at the splash screen. no usb/no disc or anything plugged in.

This system is stock (picfix installed) and hasnt been mechapwnd'

ive tried 3 different OEM memory cards

ive updated the EEPROM via PMAP after installing new laser (sometimes freemcboot can hang up while waiting for the optical drive to read disc)

This system cannot load free mcboot nor free hddboot (i tried 1.8/1.9)
--ive tried every install method (multi/crossregion/etc)
- it freezes right at the freemcboot splash screen with either memory card and hard drive

I've even installed psBBn to the hdd which successfully loads but still the system cannot load any ELF files even through psBBn

it cannot load any ELF files by any means...so what could be going on? Corruption somewhere in the software or bios? i have no clue

P.S. I have another console of the same model and everything works normal

Yes the osd menu comes up. Everything works normal except for the fact it cannot load any fmcb or elf

That has NOTHING to do with what I asked about...
"OSDmenu" is a Homebrew app...

I confused it with OSDSYS

I never tried OSDmenu...I never heard of it. I haven't tried but I have feeling OSDmenu (just like psbbn) will boot up no problem but won't load ELF files

I will try OSDmenu and will post update

TnA's question was related to: https://github.com/pcm720/OSDMenu
So in other words, install PS2BBL and set autoboot to OSDmenu patcher executable. Also configure menu and see if this will allow you to run homebrew apps.

Issue looks like NVM corruption to me and somehow FMCB/PSBBN are affected by it. But that's quite a blind shot.

I tried PSBBL which successfully loads OPL and SMS but still will not load ULaunchELF
Also I tried running UlaunchELF via OPL and still will not load UlaunchELF nor FCMB.

This system cannot load cannot load ULaunchELF/WLaunchELF.
Everything is tested and compared with another console. This console just does not want to load ULaunchELF nor FMCB.

Luckily I am able to boot OPL using PSBBL. Thank you for the recommendation for PSBBL. Now I am able to run ELFS (except ulaunchelf) through OPL.
...thank you TNA and Berion.

Hey I JUST realized you're one of the developers for ESR (for one of the standalone editions). I have the version that has both 9 and 10 .
Does ESR require FMCB to run? ESR will run but it will not boot the game disc

VERY strange. :/

Would be good if You would attach NVM dump here (only nvm file). Made eg. by BIOSDrain or PS2Ident. I will not look into it due to I have zero knowledge about it and DVDROM fw, but maybe others can spot some issues inside.
https://www.psx-place.com/resources/recovery-for-dummies.1520/ (autoboot for PS2BBL is... uLE ;p but you have all those apps in one place at least)

ESR does not need FMCB, it is fully independent. CLI versions will wait for disc pass through by MechaCon, then run it.

PS: ESR's developer is ffgriever, I made just graphics for patcher and all GUI versions. ^^"

OPL runs but not wLE? This seems like an issue on the console...

Maybe solder EE UART and run TESTMODE

Definitely issue with the console. It's weird because it's a stock console with nothing done to it . Luckily opl boots and I'm able to run a few apps that work to give the console some flexibility.
Apps like hdloader and esr will boot but cannot read the discs.

Also what I can do in test mode? I've only used test mode for pmap calibration

On TESTMODE several tests are performed, their results are printed on the EE UART.

Amongst the information printed, there is a RDRAM integrity check. There is a standalone RDRAM test homebrew program, but the original is more accurate IIRC
