Afternoon all I am new to the forum i picked up a PS2 slim and tidied it up because I wanted to go back to playing need for speed underground 2 also LOTR and i had seen that being an older console it may have been possible to upgrade the graphics system so that it would look alot better on a bigger screen so I got myself a fmcb memory card and was watching a couple of YouTube videos about it but I can't seem to get my head around upgrading the quality of the games I know that you have the OPL and was wondering if i were to get hold of the game I wanted would I be able to upgrade the graphics or would they already be clearer, I'm sorry if this is in the wrong place but I don't know what to do. I hope someone could shed some light on what I would need to do. Thanks. Dan

I am running the ps2 to hdmi output on the ps2 is that what I need? So it converts the original tv connection I had seen it online rather than using the original cables to connect, idont understand what you mean by the output on the tv, I don't know if that helps at all

I am not sure what do you mean by upgrade the graphics system, but in OPL you only can change resolution.
GSM (Configure GSM) is for that.

Press :but tri: under the games' list to enable\disable it:

Sorry my bad i shouldn't have said upgrading the graphics. It was resolution that I had meant. I will have a look thanks

Slight problem I've just started the console and for some reason it is not allowing me to open fcmb it allows me to copy it to another memory card but then just returns to the start screen when i come back or of it then only gives me the standard options

  1. Learn how to use the edit-button and DO USE it!
  2. No... Neither the graphics nor the resolution changes....... It is the "Screen mode"/Video-mode that GSM changes... The internal resolution and gfx remains THE SAME!
  3. PS2-Model?

First, you have to turn of TV processing. It makes picture ugly. Sharpness to 0, smooth motion, contrast enhancers, etc, must be off, check if image is not overscanned it adds additional processing. HDMI RGB range must be matched. Tell what brand tv you have or model to be exact.
Second, what kind brand HDMI adapter you use, some hdmi adapters takes output from composite signal not component.

I can't seem to find what brand converter is only done of the specs
(1) HDMI OUTPUT ------ HDMI output interface, connecting HDMI TV or display
(2) USB/5V Input ------ USB5V power supply input interface, connect to PS2 USB interface
(3) PS2 YPBPR Input --- PS2 color difference input interface, connect to the PS2 machine

Which probably doesn't help anyway
