PS2 game asking for DualShock2 controller on PS3 REBUG

Good morning everyone,

okay I successfully jailbreaked my PS3 PHAT (CECHC04) installed REBUG-4.86.1-LITE-NoBD got everything set up correctly everything works fine, PS3 ISOs and PS2 ISOs etc etc etc.... except for one thing which is the PS2 games boot normally but are not detecting the PS3 controller and asking to insert a dualshock2 controller,
PS3 ISOs work fine, PS2 games work fine on a PS2
what should I do?

from joonie on page you linked:

Backup compatibility is very limited on this firmware and there's currently no better solution other than a hardware repair. You won't be able to load any game files from USB storage media, but you can run installed PKG games PS2 emulation is not supported either. The recommended way to run this firmware is to disable COBRA and use IRISMAN without mamba pay

sorry i didnt realise you had cech-c model. maybe it will run ps2. you can try a different placeholder also. the one i use says R3 in the pkg name. ive used it on 3 or 4 consoles and never had controller issues.

if you get past this issue and ps2 iso wont play, try a real disc to see what happens.

Try connecting controller via USB while it is off
