Hi I had same issue with Ps2 games.In my case I had to change Hdd.

That's a good point. Because PS2 games are installed to the HD, it's worth checking this. If you have a Sata to usb lead, you can connect the HD to your PC and use Crystal Disc checker to check the HD's health
