PS3 Ps2 Games with Save files do not run and shut down

Hey everyone,

I have had this issue with my ps2 games where if a ps2 game has a save file, the ps3 will shut down if loaded. I have had this problem for a while and have tried every option that was suggested to me

For context, I have a phat non-BC ps3 (CECHK) model running on Evilnat. The ps2 games are ps2 classics and ps2 backups in ps2 classic format

I have tried every method suggested to me:

-I have changed from evilnat beta 10 pex to a beta 9 cex

-changed the temp settings on both webman mod and cfw tools folder

- went to recovery mode to rebuild database and file system

-tried deleting the ps2 save files but it never really got deleted

-tried loading ps2 isos on webman but that didn't work

At first, I thought it was a licensing issue, but it works with ps2 games without a save file, then it was the version of evilnat I was using but I ran to the same problem. Finally, I thought it was a save file issue but weirdly, it didn't work. I know there is something about how the ps3 uses the save files.

I also heard that ppl get into weird problems when the ps3 internal storage is almost full but I still have 335.9 GB free so idk if that is the issue.

If anyone has had this exact or very similar problem before, please let me know what I am doing wrong.

What kind of internal storage do you have?, HDD, SSD?.

Also, did you try running your games on lower FWs, like EVILNAT 4.88 or REBUG 4.84?.

I have a SSHD, solid state hybrid drive, and no, I haven't ran it on lower FWs, like EVILNAT 4.88 or REBUG 4.84

PS2 classics use encrypted memory cards, .vme. they're the same as the vm2 or virtual memory cards for your discs, just encrypted, which you can create with PS3 tools. I don't remember the specifics, but you can use a regular, virtual memory card(s) with your save injected, then encrypt it for use with PS2 classics. Apollo might be able to do it as well. I'm assuming it's crashing from that, unless you also mean it's crashing after a save is created as well.

Yeah, I also meant that it crashes after a save is created. Is there a guide to do this? What should I search for in order for me to do this method?

There's probably a tutorial somewhere, but I don't personally know of one. If it's happening with created saves, I'm not sure. Sshd should be good for the PS3, but I have no experience with them. I can't test on my system either as I have no PS2 games and I'm on ofw. You shouldn't have to use PS2 classics though, since you're on cfw. Try isos.

I did try isos before but they didn't work so I used ps2 classics. Plus, some ps2 games need a config file to fix some of the issues with gaming
