PS2 hard drive not showing up on PC

I am currently in the process of trying to mod my fat ps2 so I can run games on the hard drive. I bought a 2tb hard drive that is listed as compatible and formatted it and installed freemcboot on it all from the PS2 Ulaunch. The tutorial video I was watching wanted me to then use HDL batch installer to install my games onto the hard drive, but when I connect it through a SATA to USB cable to my PC, the PC doesn't even detect it.

I checked the adapter cable and bought a new one in case that was the problem, but the hard drive still won't show up on my Windows desktop or MacBook, so I'm confused. Can anyone help me at all with this issue? I know it's asking a lot.

Will try to link stuff later on, but using my phone currently.

Short version. Your drive may have been reformatted. Verify that it's recognized and good using HD Sentinel or Crystal DiskInfo.

PS2 formatted drives can't be read by anything else. You need special tools to copy games to/from and manage it. If you're going to be using exFAT then read the games via USB.

If you still want remote assistance you can DM me and I can assist. Otherwise, there are threads with info. Tedious to link while using phone but let me try.
