PS2 PS2 messiah 2 modchip

Hi ,
I have a scph30003r that is hard modded with messiah , not used this for years. I mean yrs to the point I couldn't remember how to boot ps1 games, ps2 , backups etc. Have since found a guide for booting games .

But want to know can I update this to add all the homebrew stuff and add a hard drive etc
I have one original MC .

What can I do to improve my system.
Do I need a network adapter, sata adapter for hard drive usage
I see all PS2 prior to 2009 can be hacked
Can I follow any of the Aio guide ,, just not sure how to do this with a modchip enabled.

It is junk modchip. First autoboot generation, consider removing it.

Install PS2BBL or FMCB and add DVD-Player update. Consider to buy Network Adaptor and install FHDB plus HDD OSD on HDD. Play games from HDD, USB or MX4SIO via OPL. Consider to setup XEB+ Dashboard on USB.

Does it have to be removed in order to install any of the methods you mentioned.

Yes /No , how difficult to remove.

In case of MechaPwn yes, bu it is not for Your model anyway. FMCB 1.9xx and FHDB probably will freeze. Plus other issues You can experience in homebrew.

However, without modchip You will loose way to boot CD-R.

Messiah have around 20 cables so it is a lot of work. I'm not very good in manual stuff so for me Ripper 2 Gold removal was hard, including disassembling and assembling console back. Watch out to not kill pwr/rst ribbon making from it shish kebab by screw. ;]

Ah , not for me then , bought this with the chip pre installed from computer fair that we used to have in Liverpool early 2000's.

I'd probably end up killing it
