PS2 Save Backup on pc

Hi folks, I've been thinking about backuping up my ps2 save files for a long time. I know that the easiest way would be thanks to FreeMCboot, but I don't want to use it, plus I have both an official Sony PS3 memory card adapter and an official PS2 memory card. I've been looking online for a couple of days and I cannot find any way to backup my ps2 saves and move them to pc through the adapter. I've seen a lot of tutorials for ps1 saves so I thought that it would have been the same for ps2, but apparently I was wrong. Does anyone know how to do it?

I also thought I could transfer the saves to my ps3 that has HEN and then thanks to a usb move them to the pc since I need the files there, however I don't know where they would be located on the ps3.

This is what I have used in the past for use with the official PS3MCA. Can't speak upon third party. And if you have the official PS3MCA you can just plug it right into the PS3 to dump them for your PS3 or easily copying to memory cards. Just plug into the PS3 instead of the PC
 
The fact You don't want FMCB is rather strange and increasing backup difficulty and effort for You. But anyway, Your choice. Also look at this, maybe Your console is compatible with i.e FDVDB.

So since You have PS3MCA, You have two roads: PS3 and PC.
  • PC road. Make card dump by PS3MCA Tool (original one, used for installing FMCB 1.8c back in those days but it also offering making memory card images), then add ECC for image, then open it by mymc or Dual MyMC, then export saves as *.psu.
  • PS3 road. Create VMC in XMB, import saves from PS3MCA on it, export to USB (FAT32 on MBR) as *.psv.
