PS3 Ps2 vs ps3

Good day I was about to mod my ps2 with free Mcboot, so I can play my ps2 back up. But realized I could install cfw on my ps3 so I did that.
My question is it the same playing ps2 back ups on the ps3 or is it better for my to mod my ps2 to play the backs.

ps3 would be nice to use instead because of the wireless controllers instead of the corded . Also one less console under my tv.

what are your thoughts.
Thanks

A lot of PS2 games are compatible with ps3, but not all.

Best solution for me is both consoles. PS2 hooked up with component cables (the ones with 5 output... three for video, two for audio).

Especially if you have a Fat PS2, with the hard disk compartment, load your games with OPL and you will have the best setup.

I use the PS2 on my living room like that and PS3 in the bedroom for Netflix and Youtube playback, alongside with gaming on both.

If you have both consoles, the ideal thing is to play the games corresponding to each console.

Best solution for me is both consoles. PS2 hooked up with composite cables (the ones with 5 output... three for video, two for audio).

You meant component cable.

Ok thanks I guess I'll mod my ps2 when the memcard pro 2 comes back in stock .

side note anyone know the best place to download 100% complete save game data for the ps2 and 3. I'd like to have everything unlocked in my split screen games .

If you want some good advice, I recommend only doing this for games you've already finished at least once, and whose saves you've lost.

If there's one thing video games have taught me, it's the value of effort and the satisfaction of achieving an achievement.

What's the point of a game that already has everything unlocked? It takes away the "spice" and enjoyment a game is supposed to give you.

That said, go to GameFAQs, where you'll find a whole repertoire of saves for different consoles.

if you have HEN or CFW, Apollo save tool already has an Online DB option with tons of save-games for ps3 and ps2. Install Apollo and browse the "online DB" menu.

if you want to download saves manually:
- PS3: https://bucanero.github.io/apollo-saves/PS3/
- PS2: https://bucanero.github.io/apollo-saves/PS2/
