I'm trying to replace my CFW (Evilnat 4.88.2+Webman MOD) Phat PS3's (CECHL01) stock HDD which only has a measly 80 GB to a 1TB hard drive that has been formatted into FAT32 MBR with guiformat (as well as other software) prior to insertion.
However whenever I try this, my PS3 gives me a black screen, I can seemingly pair my controller via USB but it doesn't seem to go beyond that.
I also tried inserting a different old laptop 80 GB HDD that didn't have any formatting done beforehand, expecting it to boot to an error screen that would tell me to format it. No such luck either.
Re-inserting my stock HDD works just fine and my PS3 boots to XMB as normal.
I've tried booting into Safe Mode as well but nothing seems to happen, what gives?
Oh I forgot to specify, I'm currently using a CRT TV with composite output (480i) if that means anything.
