PS3 bricked after loading Flash manager..

Just got a ps3 to jailbreak. When I tried to open the tools (whatever it's called) my ps3 beeped and went to black screen. Turning off/recovery mode nothing helps, still black screen. Fat ps3 did all preps new account cleared browser etc. Fallowed "Mr.Mario2011" guide on YouTube...

None of the PS3 Toolset Flash Memory Manager features make lasting changes to the system except the "Apply loaded patch" context menu item which remains disabled until a valid patch file is loaded.
Dumping & info extraction is all read-only stuff and FMM's safe mode on guarantees that you cannot load an invalid patch.
The only way you could damage a system with FMM is by switching FMM safe mode off to disable all checks, loading a bad patch file then applying it, and you would have to do all that despite the warnings at each step along the way.
FMM cannot brick your system just by loading the web page, I would assume that the black screen is caused by something else, maybe the hdd or other hardware.

Something very particular to my situation happened. The monitor I was using is from my Dell Optiplex 9030 AIO computer which can be switched to HDMI in mode. Even when I had video I couldn't get audio. When I clicked on the tools to check for exploit my system shut down. After that it no longer worked with my monitor. Connected it to another t.v. and it worked for recovery but the software was "corrupted" and was repaired. Working now, but I won't be attempting another jailbreak till I get more information.

As bguerville was describing there is fail-safe's you do not have anything to worry about a unrecoverable brick from it or the need of a hardware flasher.

Just assumption here but seems like something with the monitor and PS3 was having an issue.
Could be bad cable, could be so many things honestly. . Did you turn it off and on and unplug a few times.
That could potential give a soft-brick (which are recoverable as you see and not the same as a normal "brick").

I would not worry of a brick
bguerville spend alot of time and added protections to ensure that can't happen

Your not going to find the info on YouTube, the best source is the person who created it and the exploits for the jailbreak and that is bguerville :) .. Honestly no better person to give advice.

MrMario2011's videos are good. i also think the monitor is the only problem. the corruption was mostly likely from an incomplete shutdown.

try again when you feel comfortable. good luck :)

At this point he is not going to find any better information to ease his mind then what bguerville can provide.
Now if he wants a video demostration of the process Mr Mario has a good video covering the installation process.

None of this matters, FMM doesn't care about video output & doesn't interfere either, that job belongs to the OS & the hardware, if you get a hdmi issue it is not caused by browser contents or by the Toolset exploits.
In any case, with FMM safe mode on (by default), there is 0 risk of brick as I already explained.
