PS3 PS3 CELL/BE Linux driver problem?

A driver ?, the CELL support is made at the linux kernel
Not sure if is still supported officially or if people needed to recompile it to apply patches for PS3 thought, but all the linux distros published for PS3 are ready for it, otherway they should not even boot :D

from what i understand it is still supported in the kernel. if i remember correctly there is some kind of rack/blade server unit with slightly modified cell processor or two in it.

Linux does not support 8 SPUs by default. Is there a patch to support the full core?

The PS3 only uses 7 of the 8 SPU's anyways even when using GameOS. There is a patch to enable it, cannot remember where to get it, but if that SPU is damaged or anything when you enable it it will f*ck up the PS3. And there is no way to check it before you patch it and its a 1 time patch, meaning that once done it cannot be reversed.

Is there any way to enable seven SPUs under Linux?
Is there a related patch?
