PS3 CFW incorrectly reporting (using) more space

Hi everyone. I have 1TB internal HDD on latest rebug FW (4.84.2). PS3 shows 945 GB total storage.

Using Gamesonic file manager:
-PS3ISO folder size : 345 GB.
-GAMES installed files : 90 GB.
-Total of all other folders on hdd0 are less than 50 GB.

So the total is less than 500 GB and theoretic free space is 445 GB.
But PS3 shows only 300 GB of free space!

I have tried to rebuild database and check file system but without luck. Any method te recover that free space? Thanks!

gotta remember that 8% of the free space is for use by the system.

This 8% allocated space can be recovered with CFW.
I don't have a link to the correct guide you need to achieve this.... I'm on my 10 min work break, no time to search

Thank you very much I'll use that method to recover up to 8% space.
and I agree the total size is actually 945 GiB = 1024 GB, I have no problem with that, but the PS3 eats up too much space when I compare the sum of folders size to free space.

But I guess this is acceptable for a technology from 2006. It's amazing how PS3 lasted this long and is still looking good while 2006 laptops/desktops are almost extinct.
