PS3 crashes when opening BG Toolset

I recently installed 4.88 Evilnat Cobra 8.3 [CEX] to my PS3. I was trying to get a backup of my xRegistry.sys but every single time i opened the main toolset site my ps3 suddenly crashes and i'm forced to manually restart it. Any recommendations for a solution?

you can use rebug toolbox to get the xregistry easily. I don't know what happens with bgtoolset while using cfw.

I don't understand what you are trying to do.. How do you expect the currently available tools in the PS3 Toolset to help you backup xRegistry.sys? Whenever the file manager tool gets released, it might be an option & even then, when already on CFW, you don't need a browser hack to access the file systems, you have various backup managers already at your disposal.

Unless you made a mistake & what you really want to do is backup the Flash Memory ie the contents of NOR (or NAND depending on model) of your console. If so, the PS3 Toolset can be used of course but there is also various homebrew to do that.

Regarding the Toolset crash, I cannot help you unless you provide more data like screenshots of the logs tab on crash...
Anyway, like I said, as a rule of thumb, if your console is on CFW, you should stick to using homebrew rather than other hacks. While it can be used on CFW, the PS3 Toolset is by nature relevant only to consoles on OFW (or HFW which is the same thing).
