PS3 delided gives YLOD after 1 week?

I delided this PS3 both RSX and Cell CPU successfully.

( i did 3 in total this week successfully )

Anyways i repasted both chips and IHS made sure everything was flushed and it was working.

( At first it had YLOD but it had never been opened or tampered with )

So i played for about a week

( Black Ops 2 )

All ok. Everything good. Then yesterday i turned it on and it gave me YLOD a 4 second YLOD.

So i've decided to just leave it like that. So i'm guessing it must be the NEC Tokin Capacitors? Because the PS3 has been delided and repasted so it makes no sense that it's a cold solder joint on the BGA.

I meant before Deliding them it had YLOD. But once i delided and repasted the chips it worked for about a week fully in fact i stayed a Saturday playing all day. Just yesterday i got a YLOD. I'm not gonna do anything. At first i was like i'm pulling out the heat gun but it makes no sense because it was working and it has been delided. So i'm sure it's got to be those NEC Tokin capacitors. Is there anyway to read them to see if they are bad? For now i'm not opening it up. I'll just put it away.

I have 3 other delided PS3s that work. One is Backwards compatible. lol 9 PS3's for 90$ on ebay from 3 lots. 2 of them were Backwards compatible. All of them working. Well. Not 1 is not working.

Take a look at this thread on YLOD, on the old Phats it will be the NEC tokkens most likely:

Ok i fixed it.

It worked. I also did a re paste with mx4 thermal paste. I'm getting CPU 56c and GPU 58c on load for 4 hours running. I have only the top lid removed and the HDD cover removed as well. Running at 35% fan.

On another PS3 i re pasted it as well and i'm getting CPU 53c GPU 54c. 4 hours running probably because of the smaller nm die. lid and HDD cover removed. 35% fan.

I'm thinking that 50 - 60c is probably the lowest it can get with paste right?

Before that the PS3's were hovering around CPU 75c GPU 78c i think one time the GPU got up to 81c.

Maybe if put it vertically and put a 40% fan i can decrease it by 2c?

Putting it vertically will restrict the extra air intake removing the HDD door adds. 50-60 is about as low as its gonna go. If you're willing to go all in you could also replace the PSU with an external one.
