Ps3 faulty BD

I have a ps3 slim that when I put a disk in the Blu-ray drive it doesn't get in I don't know if it is just can't recognize that there is a disk or the whole Drive is broken I use a regular cfw not the noBD ver and I don't get any error codes so how I can check it to know if this is just the problem.

If the disc doesn't get grabbed upon entry, and there's nothing jammed in there, then the rollers that grab the disc are probably misaligned. Open it, clean the spinny bits, and reset the arms to their neutral position.

If it grabs the disc fine, but it doesn't read it, your laser is probably dirty or failed. Clean it with as high percentage isopropyl alcohol you can find. If that doesn't work you probably need a new laser.

What scares me that the eject button doesn't even blink when I put the disk also when I put it manually in there it in get very hard so I think there is another disk inside .

First you should open it to check if there is something weird inside that could be identifyed visually in an easy way

If everything looks fine... the next thing you should check is the 2 thin wires that connects the "disc presence detector led" located at the front center border of the disc slot
That led is pretty much like a light ray that goes into another light detector at the opposite side

If te light ray is interrupted (when you insert a disc, a coin, or anything) the PS3 starts sucking the disc, otherway if the light ray is not interrupted the drive considers there is no disc so it stays inactive

I found that all the cables for the drive was disconnected I plugged them now it sucks the disk hardley and doesn't get out also it doesn't read the disk even that I hear it spinning inside I ordered the needed screwdrivers Iam just waiting for them to arrive so I can open it.

Not sure if i understood you right... are you saying the disc cant be ejected ?, or it ejects normally ?

If you can hear the disc spinning it means that the mechanical parts (gears, levers etc...) are working fine, as well as the motors and the disc presence detector led/s i mentioned

There is another audio test you should do :D eject the disc and get close to the drive (stick your ear on top of the PS3 case), then insert the disc and try to count how many times it does a "click" sound
That "click" sound that happens inmediatly after inserting a disc is the laser lens moving up and down to "focus" on the disc surface

A healthy laser should be able to start reading the disc with just 2 or 3 "clicks"
But a burned laser is going to repeat the "click" many times (i dont remember how many, but more than 5)

I mean it can't eject I have opend the drive it's very dirty I'll clean it tomorrow and try again but what I noticed as I mentioned earlier that it inserts normally but didn't eject and the laser eye moves but the disk it self doesn't rotate.

UDATE: I cleand it now the disk rotates and the drive eye is trying to read it but can't and still I can't eject the disk it could be fixed but I think it doesn't worth the trying. I can just buy a replacement one and how I can know my drive model?

You could replace the laser instead just like what I did you don't need to remarry the drive, check this page for compatibility just check the model of your PS3 https://www.psdevwiki.com/ps3/Bluray_Drive

My problem is that the disk doesn't eject that's why I want to replace it but I found that the ribbon cable that powers the mount and eject motors is damaged I will replace it then if it works I'll just change the laser.
Alright, but you should check the prices some bd drive models are expensive like the cecha drive

If the ribbon cable is damaged to the point where you are thinking in throwing it to the trash bin there is a dirty trick you could try to "fix" it

Only works if the damage is in the copper contacts of an extreme, the idea is to cut the damaged extreme with scissors, then use a razor blade to remove the plastic and expose the new copper by "shaving" it (moving the edge of the razor blade in parallell to the plastic surface)... or with sandpaper

Step 3 of this tutorial

Step 3: With Single Edge Razor Blade scrap the top side of one half of cable, expose bare copper. Be careful not to remove copper as it may break off, Take your time! It is a slow process.

If the damage is at the center of the ribbon cable, well... you could follow that tutorial but resoldering at the center is very tricky, worths a try anyway because if it works you repaired it for free

I Did it and it worked but I unplugged to clean the drive then tried to plug it again and I damaged it again now if I tried to fix it the cable will be very short
