Yes, just download the 4.91.2 beta PUP, put it on a USB disk and do a system update. No need to jailbreak again.

If your console is not one of the latter SuperSlim models with internal eMMC, then you must get and HDD.

PS3 will never work without an HDD.

ughhhh, I've tried multiple times and for 4 hours, from redownloading the update file to doing some odd trick like unplugging the PS3 controller as soon as I press start and select, and I just get the same "no applicable update data found"

I really need some help, because I feel like giving up with this.​

Are you sure you are putting the PS3UPDAT.PUP in the correct path? (X:/PS3/UPDATE/)

If so, make sure your USB Drive is FAT32 MBR

Yes, I have put the update file in the correct path, named the folders properly and even placed the file in an UPDATE folder

And yes, I have formatted my usb to FAT32 MBR

Make sure you're using a cex with cex or dex with dex update.

Attach a screenshot here, showing the paths, maybe you missed something, also a screenshot showing that the device is MBR not GPT
