PS3 PS3 freezes when trying to record a video

Hi, when I press Select + R3 in-game to record a video, my PS3 freezes. When pressing that combo in in-game XMB, nothing happens.
Tried in Persona 5, Catherine and in Just Dance 2016.

you can try (SELECT + R3+ R2 + L2) it will unload webman and load the rec plugin to save memory, you can also play with different video resolutions and audio codecs,

See here for more info

Tried that, does nothing

Not all games support video recording.
This is a feature that is not officially supported.
It consumes a large amount of memory and not all games have enough free memory available.

You can try pressing R3 in video_rec.sprx to switch the memory container from app to bg.

It could improve the compatibility with certain games. Or you could try using mysis's POC plugin.

It is recommended to unload webMAN MOD before use the video recording to reduce the memory usage.

Load it by hand, editing "dev_hdd0/boot_plugins.txt" (?). Also don't forget to disable wmm and be sure that plugin is signed for Your fw version. Maybe also Cobra disabling is good idea?

I never use it so it is my blind shots based on Aldostools response. ;]

i have to reinstall os now thanks to that shitty plugin (freezes on startup)
once again, thanks

The plugin is not shitty, take a look at what @aldostools said.
The screen you mentioned can be easily bypassed by pressing the PS button, the plugin does not touch any firmware files to corrupt the system.

You don't need to reinstall the OS.

If you loaded the plugin from /dev_hdd0/boot_plugins.txt and for any reason the system freezes when it's booting,
you only have to reboot, go to recovery menu and exit back to XMB.

The recovery menu will delete /dev_hdd0/boot_plugins.txt preventing that any faulty plugin be loaded.

After in-place update I figured out that when I don't press any of the plugin combos, system won't freeze so somehow got PS3's IP and removed the plugin via FTP
