Hey everyone... so I did a Gentoo on my PS3 the other day. Here is a video of the install...
Its long. I may edit it down and do a voice-over later
The way I did the install was by using Fedora 12 as the install environment.
I installed Gentoo onto a spare 20G partition.
Here's my friend Damian's github:
https://github.com/damiandudycz/ps3.git
You can find a pre-built kernel (6.5.4) and initramfs there. Thats the one I'm using.
NOTE: give yourself about 2G of swap (and also mount your vram /dev/ps3vram as swap with option -p 1)
Compiling software takes memory.
Enjoy
Also - that kernel will boot on CFW PS3's as well
