PS3 PS3 Green Light, No Video or Audio

Hello all, I purchased my first PS3, which is a FAT CECHA01. The unit was not working when delivered. I plugged it in and turned it on, here are the following symptoms that I was hoping the forum could provide some advice please?:

1. Unit turns on, but no video or audio out of the HDMI or the AV port.
2. Green light will come on and stay on.
3. Fans begin to turn on and progressively get louder and louder

I have ordered the UART adapter and was going to open the unit up to pull the error log, but I wanted to make sure that I wasn't overlooking something first.

Cannot really conclusively say without the SYSCON error log. Is there obvious damage to the console and the case. Is the warranty sticker intact?
