PS3 Hybrid HEN switch HDDs to be safe on PSN?

Hey guys, today I tested out installing Hybrid FW and HEN loader. Everything went well and I hacked the console. Feels great and makes me appreciate creative ways how you defeat protection. Great work.

Now a question since my other PS3 console is unbanned can I do this for example?

Have one HDD with all my legitimate game bought from PSN and play online when that HDD is inserted into console and have one other HDD that I switch out which would feature HFW and HEN loader for offline play. If I switch back and forth between those HDDs would I be exposed to Sony if I go online with the HDD that has legit content?

we don't really know what sony can detect. but the actaul hen file (PS3HEN.BIN) is usually kept in flash (not hdd) so it could still be detectable.

what do you mean by "legitimate"? do you have "illegitimate" stuff as well?

If the aim is absolute ban safety, you can use a dual boot system.
On CFW, you need to do a hdd swap accompanied by a Flash Memory CoreOS swap to OFW before using PSN.

On HEN, a simple hdd swap like you described should do the trick in theory but keep in mind that even then there is no guarantee of 100% safety on HFW because HFW usage is "potentially detectable", technically speaking it would not exactly be difficult to do. In order not to take any risk whatsoever, the only option is to stick to OFW when using PSN.
The difference between hfw & ofw is just one single file called silk_webkit.sprx located in /dev_flash partition.
On NOR, swapping the hdd can swap the webkit module because /dev_flash is located on the hdd so a hdd swap is enough to switch between HFW/HEN & OFW.
On NAND & emmc though, it is not the case, the webkit module is located in the Flash memory & a workaround must be found (manual file swap or PUP reinstalling).
