PS3 PS3 Net Server Tutorial

So I'm using ps3netsrv on a nas. I used the fork ps3netsrv-ng on my qnap nas. When I use webman mod I can browse all the game directories & files in net0 but none of the games show in webman mod games? I have ftp'd a sample game to dev_hdd0 and it loads but cant get webman mod to recognize the jb game backups on the nas. Can someone provide advice or link to a detailed guide to problem solve?

Yes I'm using scan for content with check mark for scan LAN games/videos (with the nas ip entered) & check mark for remote sub-directories. But no games are showing but I can view the files in net0

Read the complete article.

Make sure that you saved the settings after put the checkmark. Also use static IP address for the server and the PS3. Rescan the content after save

Verify that the folders PS3ISO, PSXISO are in uppercase and the ISO images can be mounted.

The server must be running before start the PS3. Otherwise the check marks will be disabled until the next reboot.

After a few days of trial and error my ps3 superslim w/HEN can now mount iso's from my QNAP NAS running ps3netsrv-ng. However I still cannot mount JB/Folder games or game .pkg's. I believe my current problems come from the NAS folder structure.

Games
|
| JB/Folders e.g. BLUSxxxxx [Game Name]
|
PS3ISO
|
| Game Name [BLUSxxxxx].iso
|
PKG
|
| Game Name.pkg {RAP's already ftp'd to PS3 /dev_hdd0/exdata/}

Is there something wrong with the folder naming structure that prevents JB/folder games loading & .pkg's loading. Clearly LAN communication is working as evidenced by iso success.

I answered in the following thread. There is no need to post the same issue on multiple threads.

Trying to set up a virtual linked directory to my pre existing PS3 Netserver.

Is anyone able to share their .ini file so I can just edit it to my own directories.

Also, whereabouts am I suppose to put this .ini file?

All I'm trying to do is add another HDD which has games on.

(edit) Current directory E:/PS3 want to add a F:/PS3

(From the GitHub repo)
Virtual Linked Directories

ps3netsrv supports listing files from other folder locations and devices attached to the server, and list them as if they are in a single directory, if the other folder locations are listed in an .INI file next to the folder. The setting file must be named as folder name + .INI. Each path should be listed in a separated line. They can be UNC paths, full path (drive letter + path) or relative path.
  • PS3ISO.INI
  • PSXISO.INI
  • DVDISO.INI
  • BDISO.INI
  • ROMS.INI
A folder listing can include the content of sub-folders if the path contains or ends with //.

Im trying to set up this the remote directory by file for psx games as i dont want to sift through all my backups. ive got the PSXISO.INI file with 2 lines "E:\RetroPie\roms\psx\Alundra (USA).bin" and"E:\RetroPie\roms\psx\Alundra (USA).cue" but webman comes back 0 Games. ive tried removing the "" still same result. If i just put E:\RetroPie\roms\psx the whole folder is picked up. I have tried unchecking the option in webMAN Mod Scan Remote Sub-Directories with no change. how do i get this to work?

The PSXISO.INI is only needed if you want to list files from other directories in the folder PSXISO of the shared folder.

To play PSX games from the PC do:
1- Extract ps3netsrv.exe in a folder. e.g. C:\PS3
2- Create the folder PSXISO in that folder. e.g. C:\PS3\PSXISO
3- Copy your PSX games (CUE/BIN files) to PSXISO
4- Run ps3netsrv.exe (allow remote access if a firewall prompt appears)
5- Open the browser and go to http://ps3-ip-address/setup.ps3, expand Scan for content, configure the remote IP address for PS3NETSRV#1, check Activate game/video streaming, save and click Refresh button

5- After the scan is done, launch your games from XMB or from the browser

So there isnt a way to list games in by file as stated on the ps3netserv page?

Yes, but you have put the path of the directories containing the files in PSXISO.INI.

Same for PS3ISO.INI (the directories listed in the INI file will be listed like they are inside the folder PS3ISO)

Go to 0/setup.ps3 in the PS3 Internet Browser or from PC and configure the IP address of the ps3netsrv.
https://github.com/aldostools/webMAN-MOD/wiki/~-PS3-NET-Server#webman-mod-settings

Then go to PS3 Internet Browser and navigate to 0/net0 This should show a directory with the remote files and folders.

If the files are listed, then there is connection and the issue could be the file names. The folder names should be in caps (e.g. PS3ISO).

If the files are not listed, then the issue is your router or your firewall blocking the inbound/outbound traffic to ps3netsrv.exe

I finally acquired a ps3 after years of not having one. I got this all setup and is great. Have a question or 2

1. If I start the PS3 before I start the service on my PC games don't show (expected behaviour). How do I make it so it runs in the background? tried using the "install as a service" bat file but I have no idea what I am doing in the NSSM program. Nor do I have any idea if that even works the way I expect it to.

I have a 40gb drive (I have a fat cechh) and some games won't fit so thought this could be used for the kids (something to do over Christmas holidays) and rather than deleting games and ripping their lego games and I just got a copy of little big planet 1 and 2 for £1. I want to be able to host them on my PC and make it so once my PC is on they have access.

I am aware I can just upgrade the hard drive. However, I am one of those people who cannot see the point in having like 1000 games in a list so if I want to play a game I will rip the disc and delete an older game. If I have too much choice I can't choose and end up doing nothing. It's 5 days to Christmas and it is my kids last day of school today and they have shown an interest in playing PS3 so I am happy enough to get them out of my hair and onto the PS3. So any help would be amazing
