PS3 Netserver crash when booting game

Hello

I have a problem with booting games from the net_host / netserver.
My games are showing up in webman and multiman, mounting the game works also when hovering over the game it play's the music and shows the game logo etc, but when booting the game it says loading profile and after that there's a black screen and nothing happens/ PS3 freezes.
My games are on a NTFS external drive connected to the laptop and the games aren't in ISO format but in their original folder structures (these games work when they are placed in the ps3 HDD). These games are also in the PS3/GAMES folder format like netserver wants it.
I am also using a Ethernet cable and not wifi.
(forgot to add, CFW 4.81 rebug dex, webman and multiman are fully updated)

I don't know why all games crash when booting them from the netserver, any ideas to make it work?

You didn't mention what platform or version of ps3netsrv you are using, or if it's compiled by yourself or if you're using the compiled binary from the release page.

I suggest to test an older version, like deank's fork.

Also try mounting the game from the internal HDD of the laptop, discard any potential issue caused by the external hdd.

If the problem persists, try converting the game to ISO.

I downloaded the newest "ps3netsrv_20200708.zip" for windows and "webMAN_MOD_1.47.35_Installer.pkg", so normally everything is up to date.

I will try to put it on my internal ssd, but the reason I put it on the external one is because I am low on space.
I will also try converting it to an ISO...

Update:
I converted it to an ISO and tested in on both the internal and external drive and it doesn't work. I can still mount it, see the logo and play the sound but booting the game still gives a black screen and freezes the console.
I also tested it on an older version and the recent one, but no luck. And I don't know what i have to do with daenk's version because it doesn't have an exe.
(Maybe this wil help, my PS3 model is a CECH2504B, with 4.82* D-rex and cobra enabled)

deank's version has an exe. You need to run it from command like with the shared path as parameter.

If it isn't working as ISO, then your issue could be something the game or the network.
Check that your firewall is not blocking the port 38008 on the PC.

Everything is perfect with the ports, It always showed the game and I was able to look trough the net_host files in multiman without a problem. I could see the theme and play the music when its mounted, so this is a very strange problem.
But there's a problem with starting the game, maybe multiman and webman are broken but it works for other people so why doesn't it work on mine...

I can live without this netserver but I just don't understand why it doens't.

Maybe it's something with D-REX, because I used ps3netsrv on linux, windows, and now, on openwrt. The same version you are using, but my PS3 are using a CEX CFW.

So I have tested a lot and almost broke my ps3 ( lol ).
First I changed my PS3 from DEX to CEX and there only was one difference. The PS3 doesn't freeze after booting the game but it always gives the same black screen, so no change.
After that I got many problems after shutting down the PS3 while playing a game but I reinstalled Multiman and Webman, and updated the console to the latest Rebug lite CFW. And it still gives a black screen after booting the game....

Changing to CEX and updating everything doesn't help. Everything fine with the firewall and connection.
I will give up with this because I have lost so much time that I could have used for something else.
