Here's the tool: https://thepeacefuloutcome.com/shop/ols/products/playstation-3-rsx-gpu-delid-tool
Here's a vid showing the tool in action: --https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d9AHZVmmPQA&t=562s
I did notice the description on the shop page says:
"Works on all Playstaiton 3 systesm: PS3 phat / fat, slim, and super slim"
The Super Slim has no RSX lid to delid.
Also, from what I hear, no 40nm RSX can be de-lidded either (unless the entire chip gets removed from the board first.)
But, that's what I would like to get some more information on de-lidding the 40nm RSX.
So that's definitely the case? No 40nm RSX can be de-lidded?
And if so, why is that? What difference is there between the 90nm & 65nm to the 40nm that makes it so the 40nm cannot be de-lidded?
Note: So, I guess this tool is only useful for 90nm & 65nm RSX chips.
EDIT: after I contacted the seller, they removed 'can delid super slims' from the description.
