The syntax for /dev_hdd0 is the same, here is an extract of the multiman changelog:

thanks. yeah, I figured it was probably the same. @LuanTeles already had all the flash files in the correct locations (same with dev_hdd0's files), so it was very easy just to mount the vsh directory from that. I hadn't looked at his files 'til then, and I wasn't sure if he had provided txt documentation within the folders, which I would've removed if he had. luckily, he didn't, so it took no time. lol also, I did check the file names and folder names just in case there was a typo which I've done before actually, mostly with the resource folder. :-P

Hello,hey@bguerville,when i unzip this mod in mmos it puts folders in temp directory in ps3 dev hddo.i have tried to copy paste in correct folders but says not enough space.i have deleted files with same name and not copied game boot audio files and then I have enough space. Problem is I lose pkg install folder on xmb. Running rebug 4.81.2 nothing else but mm,rebug tool box. Don't know what I'm doing wrong?

the pkg install function (making it appear) is in category_game.xml. check that file for it. it should be near the bottom of the file.

also, it's possible my mm zip file may be too large to fit in the flash. I wasn't aware that mm calculated the size, then tried to distribute the files like windows. maybe u should try the original zip. that could be y it's distributing the files in the temp folder.

I have tried this 5 times with original zip always same result.that I don't have enough space. In flash.also there are two audio files that aren't in resource folder that I do not copy from zip file. I delete all files with same name in resource folder then the zip files fit minus the 2 audio files it works great but lose pkg install folder on xmb.

I dunno. u may have to ask @LuanTeles . the audio files may not fit. the reason for gameboot sound being removed is the size of the flash I believe. 2.76, the last time gameboot audio/video was in ofw, was right around when NOR systems were hitting the market. that's my guess about that.

Maybe, don't know. Could it be that the pkg folder not be implemented in the .sprx file?

causing that issue? unlikely. the flash has about 3.5MBs free, at least on a NOR console. gameboot audio takes up a good chunk of that. it should still fit though unless u have other mods taking up space. many of the files on the ps3 use zlib compression to make them small enough. the audio files for the coldboot and gameboot do not use this compression, so they're large by other files' standards.

Well, I will keep trying maybe I'm missing something I am running a no bc nand console cechg maybe nor has more space?

yeah, I'm not sure if space makes a difference here or if there's actually more available space with a NAND console. NOR consoles allocate space on the hdd for flash files. I'm not sure how all that works or what files r on the hdd and what files r in the flash. I know the core os is in the flash, but as far as the other files/modules, I don't know.

the sprx file should be 182-183KBs compressed/600KBs uncompressed. either should fit, so I don't know what's going on.

@pinky got it working! Looks awsome! I had to do it all manually and not use xmb folder in the zip. Thanks for all your help!

I think the file you are looking for has already been posted in this thread (post #20).

If it does not work, something else is wrong, it could be the game_ext_plugin.sprx or whatever...
For instance, if you installed 4.81 on top of the files then the sprx will have been replaced & will not be patched appropriately anymore... It needs to be replaced with a patched copy...

strangely, on a certain firmware and below, gameboots worked merely by changing the custom_render_plugin.rco I remember when I wrote the gameboot tutorial, or at least a chunk of it anyway, we were still on 3.55. that was before the game_ext_plugin.sprx patch. modding the custom_render_plugin.rco was all that was needed at the time, but oddly the original gameboot would not display unless u resaved the rco file with rcomage. :)
