"After hexing it"? What do you mean? Hexing what? stage2.bin ?
Better to change modulespatch.h & recompile using the batch file...

Hold on, I just checked modulespatch.h & I found this for 4.81 static hash:

#define GAME_EXT_PLUGIN_HASH 0xcc2680000001e000 // STATIC HASH, COBRA 7.5, 4.53-4.81

The other one you posted @pinky seems to be the previous one for 4.80 I think... It's must be the old dynamic hash... And I don't think it's used so there should be need to change the hash you calculated after all...

I need to ask Joonie what Hash_newcalc calculates then because this is confusing.. He doesn't post lately so I assume he is busy with other stuff. I will try to Skype him later today..

this can be done through hex editing, but u could recompile if u'd like. there should only be one address with that hex sequence, so u know ur on the right track. that's the reason for the long sequences when u don't really need to modify the entire hex sequence. it's to make sure ur in the right section. lol

I can't find the original hash value via hex. :-/
What hash value & in what file/what version?
If you looked for the original dynamic hash in a 7.5x stage2.bin file compiled for 4.81, you should not find it.
When the source is compiled the parts specific to non 4.81 firmwares are all ignored so those parts of the code won't appear in the binary. Only the static hash should be found if I am not mistaken, try looking for it to see...

I think u mean post 106. I read it, but u edited it after I had read it. hashcalc isn't calculating the hashes correctly it would seem. that hash u specified does exist, so I don't know what's wrong.

Have you tested those mods with patched game_ext_plugin.sprx & gameboot on Ferrox or Habib 4.81?

Nope haven't installed anything but Rebug since 4.65 as I use DEX firmwares. Adds a level of safety to NAND systems. Testing spurx and RCO files don't result in a soft brick like NOR models where one can just format a HDD if needed. Was a trick joonie showed me. Granted I have a teensy++ but tskes ages to write to a NAND flash. If I get this moving all done as j hope tomorrow I can test then but on my slim. Don't like taking chances with my NAND falsh system.

Yeah, I edited a few posts to clarify a bit so it might be better to check back.

The static hash will be in 7.5x stage2.bin for 4.81 while you will find the dynamic hash in earlier builds.
That's normal.
What we still don't know is how to verify the static hash... I thought it was Hash_newcalc... Maybe I should look at its source...
If the static hash has not changed with the patch then there is probably no issue with Cobra
A good way to find out would be to use a debug stage2.bin to output the Cobra debug information. We would know if game_ext_plugin.sprx is a problem or not in a few seconds...

well, I'm wondering if that's the reason my ps3 has been freezing at random. it doesn't freeze often, but it started too after patching that file without fixing cobra hashes. now, it looks like we can't fix the hashes in the same way. u know more about this stuff than I do, so I leave it to u to figure it out. for now, I suggest that no one use the patched game_ext_plugin.sprx . the patch may also be incomplete or "dirty," but how do we know? when I started on the ps3, I knew nothing, not how to use photoshop, not how to hex, nothing, so I'm still learning about this stuff. I've managed to learn a great deal on my own, mostly through testing. I hope u can help with this @bguerville . now, it's time for pinky sleep. :-P

Now i have the sony computer etntertainment logo and gameboot too with sound but anybody have the old 2.00 boot sound? that remained the same 4.81 sound (System boot) i rememver the 2.00 have a different boot music, and black xmb?

@habib said that Recalculate Hashes is no more needed since cobra 7.50
We know what habib said already... Lol
Afaik he never said that all the new static hashes were 100% resistant to all patches & mods... Hopefully it is but that's why we are having this conversation otherwise we would not bother...
I just wish habib would clarify this for us once & for all...
Like I said I will try to Skype Joonie to get some answers...
