ps3 shutting down when playing ps2 classic

so, after playing the ps2 classic "god hand" for around 30 min my ps3 beeps 3 times and the power led starts flashing red and green everytime but doesn't shut down immediatly unless i keep playing for a couple of more minutes . so, i quit the game before it shuts down, and proceed to check the temps using webman, and by the time i reached the browser they were around 75ºc. the maximum it ever got while playing ps3 games was 68ºc and the only time i get this problem is when i'm playing this ps2 game that i installed via pkg.
has anyone experienced this problem before? is there a fix for it? thanks

edit: forgot to mention that the fans run almost completely silent when playing the ps2 classic game but once i quit the game and return to the xmb they start spinning really fast and loud until the temperature is lowered

fix: set fan speed to manual in webman with default settings (37% speed in ps2 games), played for almost an hour with no issues and when i checked the temps in the xmb they were below 60ºc

Hello, please install this app (4.81 & 4.82 supported): http://www.psx-place.com/threads/ps...-way-to-toggle-ps2-emulator-on-ps3-cfw.16095/
Then select "Temperatures Mod" and follow on screen instructions. Exit app when done, and run ps2 classic. Since now when you push PS button while playing PS2 games, you will be able to check temperatures in left upper corner.

Anyway is clear for me that your PS3 is overheating. When you confirm we can try to find correct values for fan setting in webman.

i'm getting 60 cell and 58 rsx with 37% fan usage, should i lower the fan speed or leave it like that?

Doubtful your getting those temps when playing a PS2 game. otherwise your PS3 would not signal its overheating at those temps. At idle you might have those temps but when emulation starts. If anything i would increase the fan speed on PS2 games. Especially with it overheating on current settings and see what happens there and also take @kozarovv suggestion

it's not overheating anymore because i'm using a custom fan profile
62ºc cell 57ºc rsx in game with 37%fan speed in ps2 games

When are you getting those temps? During PS2 gameplay? and then it still shuts down. or are those temps you see prior to playing a PS2 game. The best advice i could give is to increase the fan speed for PS2 games and see if that fixes the issue. if it does then we know that was the issue.

Inside the games there are temperature peaks caused by graphics that happens very fast and makes the temperature to vary up and down very fast
When you pause the game... then quit game... then return to xmb... to open webman... and finally see the temperature...

The temperature is decreasing while doing all that !!!... so what you see in webman is a temperature value way lower that the max temperature peaks you had inside that game

The same happens in a PS3 game, or any other game type
What you need to do is to try to find a game that has the biggest graphics/processor workload... and play for some minutes in the scene where there are produced the higher temperature peaks
And while the temperature peak is happening you have to "catch" it on real time

If you spent some seconds before meassuring it... then the test is not valid

Having a problem extremely similar on my Slim while playing ps2 classics. Started happening recently, but the only ps2 game I've played recently is Need for Speed Most Wanted, so I'm not sure if the issue has developed with other ps2 classics as well. I'm thinking of putting in new thermal paste for the rsx and the cell.

Other than that, playing normal ps3 games on it work fine, just webman's default settings like to make the fan faster than it should be sometimes. Never had that issue on Ferrox, the fanspeed randomly shifting. When I moved to Rebug, (that had Webman preloaded and functioning), that's when the paranoid fan started.
