PS3 Ps3 Slim CFW 4.91 Evilnat Cobra 8.4 CEX Webman Mod Psx game black screen

Hello , i update my Ps3 with the lastest CFW 4.91 Evilnat Cobra 8.4 CEX (the last version of it) .

When i start a Psx game with Webman Mod V1.47.46 the Ps3 freeze with blask screen and i have to make a hard reset to solve the situation (PSX games are on my Nas Synology using Ps3netsrv). Even if i don't use Ps1_netemu. Before updating the Cfw , that was good.

Any idea to solve this ?
 
Please make sure that you gave installed the re-released version of Evilnat 4.91 from March 12th.

The initial release had various bugs.

Also check if the game loads fine from the internal HDD.

Thanks for the answer , i well take the re-released version. I download it since here . I will verify one time again. I 'll try from the internal HDD , and give a back.
 
I installed Cfw 4.91 CEX with Md5 "A7C82D108BEB5F3C94B3C5BEA6B6AD08" , i think it's well the re-release, can you confirm it ?
I test with games Psx iso , bin cue and img in Ps3 HDD and that work by Webman Mod but with games trough Ps3netsrv the Playstation logo don't appear and the Ps3 stay on black screen.Ps3 iso on my Nas by Ps3netsrv work well. On the other hand I saw here "https://www.logic-sunrise.com/news-...lnat-cobra-84-beta-1-available-pour-test.html" that there would be a new re-re-released version 4.91.2 for testing. But i can't find it here and I don't und understand what the difference is between "PEX-CEX" and "CEX" version.Is it the same as the Cex version ? Or is it another one ?

PEX CEX is equivalent to Rebug REX but for 4.91. It allows conversion between CEX and DEX. It contains various debug modules from 4.84 DEX ported to 4.91. It's intended for developers and game modders.

CEX is a clean CEX only version. It doesn't allows conversion between CEX and DEX. It's intended for users that only play games without require advanced features.

There is also DEX and D-PEX versions. They are the same but for PS3 currently running on DEX mode .

There is a new 4.91.2 BETA 1 that you could try. It's a test version that could solve (or not) some issue of your issues.

I have tested some PSP and PSX isos through ps3netsrv and they are working fine. I'm using the 4.91.2 beta 1 from March 24th.

You can install PEX edition. It's like "CEX" on steroids :cool:
 
I installed CFW 4.91.2 Pex , and now the Psx games work, in Hdd and by Ps3 Netsrv. I don't test all my collection.
There is the game Tomb Raider French version which does not work entirely: I get to the start menu, I start a game and the screen goes black and I have to quit the game.

On the other hand, when I choose "Network Games (via Webman)" in Irisman, no network games appear even though it works in Webman, any ideas?

Tomb Raider is one of the games with issues. I got it working using these PPF patches:

I'm not sure if it's compatible with the French version, but you could try it.

I am going to change the internal hard drive of my PS3 with a 500 Go, will this remove the custom firmware? If so, could I reinstall it as usual or will I have to do something specific?

The Custom Firmware patch is found in the CoreOS which written in the flash memory of the console, not in the HDD.

After the HDD replacement, plug a flash drive with the PUP for CFW 4.91. Turn on the PS3. It will ask to format the HDD and install the CFW. There is no need to use ps3toolset in this case.

Remember to eject any PS3 disc inserted from the Bluray drive before the installation.
