PS3 PS3 Slim DVD tray making loading sound

My slim PS3 is acting really weird today. The DVD drive keeps making that hissing sound like when you insert the disc and the blue light is blinking. It goes on and on until I put a disc in it then it quiets down. I open it up and all the ribbons are tight and intact. There's barely any dust in it, and no stuck disc in the drive. Do I have a bad DVD drive?

The "disc sucker" motor is triggered by a "disc presence sensor" located in the top-center border of the disc slot
That sensor have 2 thin wires that goes to a side of the circuit board to a tiny "2 pins" connector
