I just recently bought a Slim CECH 3001A with original firmware.
It was running fine, playing games and everything without trouble for days.
So I decided to install HFW and Hen.
Installation was fine; I've put some more games and played a little more until... I was installing a PKG game, and it completely froze during installation. Even the clock and animation behind it were frozen. I left it for an hour and nothing. I held the power button for a while until it powered off.
And since this... it doesn't boot up anymore.
The system turns on for about 30 seconds and then shuts down; the power indicator also turns off.
Sometimes, after a dozen tries, it does boot up, but it always freezes randomly while navigating the XMB or anything. Even trying to boot up in Safe Mode is a hit-and-miss; sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
I took it all apart, cleaned all the dust, repasted, resecure all the cables, took the HDD off, and tested it on my PC with CrystalDiskInfo. SMART is fine; no errors, nothing.
Fully formatted it (no fast format) and put it back, and fully formatted the USB Stick too, redownloading the HFW to it.
After some more hundred tries, it finally boots up, and I managed to format and reinstall HFW again, but with no luck. It still refuses to boot most of the time, and when it boots, it freezes somewhere in the XMB.
After some digging online, I found PS3Toolset and managed to run it for searching errors in the log, and it came with some 1601, 1701, and 5FFF errors.
The Wiki about it's not conclusive enough to me, and I don't know what more I can do or what problem exactly my console has.
Do any of you guys have encountered the same issues? Any clue to fix? Any tip? What more can I try?
