Ok thank youProbably not since the emulator has different functions.
No way around. Maybe if some developer reverse engineering the ps2 emulator from $ony and add emulation of network and hdd functions from the original PS2 hardware (or BIOS), maybe getting help from PCSX2 coders... Unlikely that it will happen, sad but true.

I don't think that a 'normal' ps2-bios version should be inside the ps3 bios as the ps3 is just not a ps2. It has different hardware. The bios is for communicating with the hardware. I really think it should be different on the ps3..
I would guess the largest part of the ps2 bios on the ps2 and on the ps3 are equivalent. But I guess especially the important hw interface stuff is quite different.

BlackDaemon said:I already tried that, also ps2 emulator .self's inside ps2emu folder contains cut ps2 bios, which works on PCSX2 only using "Boot CDVD (fast)" mode. PCSX2 detects ps1rom.bin as "USA v1.90 (23/06/2003)".
PS2 bios won't fit into emulators used in PS3. I injected custom bios, but is pita to do so. You need to replace RDRAM module to one from netemu bios, and cut off unused modules (so literally repack bios). Anyway, that won't help with net features. You need to emulate that to make it work, bios is not enough. I suggest you using pcsx2 if you own pc that can run it. Netemu probably never gonna have net play support. So I was thinking, if using a real and complete PS2 BIOS dump and inserting it in PS3 or in ps2 emulator self, would us restore some PS2 functions on NON-BC PS3? Like Network play, HDD installs... or maybe just more compatibility with PS2 games? Has anyone tried to do something like that?

You're both partially wrong (or partially right). This is ps2 rom STRIPPED from ps2 functionality. So i really doubt you can run any ps2 game correctly on it as stated, being detected by pcsx2 doesn't mean it run fine. Pcsx2 just read romver, and have no clue what's inside before running game on it. This is probably the same bios as used in xperia play. Where you also had ps2 stripped rom to run psx mode as described by Yifan. It is PSX firmware, not PS2 firmware.
I don't know for sure, i remember it was much bigger than 512kb. So most likely you're right. The stripped ps1_rom.bin has been introduced in the later firmware versions. Earlier it was a plain PS2 BOOT ROM, wasn't it?
