PS3 Slim USB Ports are not identifying my external HD

Hello! I hope you are doing well! I need some help, please!
I got a PS3 Slim that has USB ports that do not identify my external HD. When I connect the external HD, I can see the light of my HD turning on. Also, I can charge my wireless controller with a cable through them. So I don't think the ports are damaged. Also, I formatted my external HD to FAT32 through AOMEI Partition Assistant 9.5. But still, it didn't identify my external HD. I tried another external HD with the same FAT32 format by AOMEI Partition Assistant 9.5, but I faced the same problem of not identifying my external HD. I tried formating my PS3 Slim, and I faced the same issue. I even got stuck not being able to install Webman and Multiman after the format. I tried using both of my PS3 slim ports, and both of them are not identifying my external HD. I ran out of ideas, and I can't make it work. Please help me! Thank you!

I changed the drive from FAT32 GPT to FAT32 MBR and I am still facing the same issue. I followed this youtube video on how to do so and I am still facing the same issue. Please help!
 
Max drive size is 2tb for external drives. Now you can bypass this SOMETIMES by making multiple partitions. That being said I have a 4tb USB 3.0 that will not work no matter what but them I have an 8tb that works fine if I make multiple partitions.

I don't think there is an issue with the external HD. Because I used to do the same thing before, and it worked, but here are the properties. The issue started when my external HD made a bad sound when I plugged it into my PS3. Then I figured that the cable of my external HD has died, so I changed it to a new one and formatted my external HD. Now the external HD is working again, but my PS3 is not.

Only use two for the PS3 the other two are used for various things. The only way I could get it to see the drive was to do this. Sorry didn't mean to imply I used all four with the PS3. The other partitions is used by Plex on my Android set top box. PS3 can only see two with one of mine FAT32 the other NTFS.

None of the pics showed up but have you tried formatting the PS3 HDD? Or restore and rebuild first?
 
Hmmm do you have any other drive you could try? I have had a USB port go out before. This way can at least test the hardware.

I tried my friend's external hard drive, and it wasn't identified either. I formatted his external hard drive to FAT32 just like I did with mine in the picture. The result was the same. Besides, if the issue was with the PS3 ports, I will not be able to charge my wireless controller through them. Also, my external hard drive does get electricity since I see a beeping light in them. Right now, I am on Rebug 4.86.1 light edition. I can't install Webman or Multiman since I can't use my ps3 USBs. Also, I can't use FTP since it doesn't have Multiman or Webman. The PS3 browser doesn't let me install package files such as Multiman or Webman. Thus, I am stuck xD.

Not necessarily. The port (or cord) can supply power and no data.
Like a cell phone wall charger.
I, also, have a USB code that recharges my Sony headset but does not transmit any data

So.... have you tried a new USB cord?

Yes, I tried that. Still, my external Hard Drive is not identifiable.
 
My guess is that the PS3 has malfunctioned after I plugged my external hard drive when it had a dead cord and it was messed up. But shouldn't formating my PS3 drive fix that issue? Or should I restore it to factory settings? Please help me, guys! I appreciate your thoughts. Thank you!
 
Thank you so much! You solved my problem. Apparently, the new cord I bought for my external hard drive consumes a lot of electricity. So when I inserted a USB thumbstick it was identified. The issue was with the new cord, not the external hard drive. Thank you to everyone in here who tried to help me!
